Make a difference. Change a life!
The Turning Point relies on volunteers to change its students' lives. From one hour a week to whatever time you are able to give, the Turning Point can use your strengths and talents to help its students. The Turning Point is more than just a school. We focus on the growth of the whole person - academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

Become a mentor and impact students' futures.
Consider the following questions:
-
Is there a skill you could teach? Many students enjoy working with their hands.
-
Do you handle the stresses of life well? Show how to constructively deal with the problems of life.
-
Do you like to hang out and have good, clean fun? Bring a student along with you.
-
Do you enjoy seeing people practice new skills? Give kids chances to apply what they have learned.
Here are some examples of what mentors have done in the past. Be creative with what you can do!
Be a mentor inside the classroom:
-
Meet with a student regularly
-
Lead a Family Time
-
Provide bottled water and healthy snacks
Be a mentor outside the classroom:
-
Use garden produce to teach a cooking skill
-
Do yard work together with a student
-
Take a walk together
